A safer route

Plan for the road, not just the distance

  1. 01

    Check the full route

Look beyond the map time. Review closures, gravel sections, alpine passes and planned roadworks.

  2. 02

    Add realistic breaks

Allow more time than the map suggests and stop before fatigue affects concentration.

  3. 03

    Plan for weak reception

Save the route offline and note fuel, charging, food and accommodation stops.

  4. 04

    Recheck before departure

Weather and road conditions can change quickly. Check again immediately before leaving.

Roadside help

Know who to contact

For a rental-car breakdown, move out of traffic when safe, use hazard lights and call the rental company's roadside assistance number. Call 111 when anyone is injured or in danger.
